I use Photoshop CS4
I did an inverse selection on the dog and adjusted the levels
Did a separate level adjustment on the dog
Cropped and deleted a small portion of a pumpkin on the right side

I love how the doggie looks like he has texture. I forgot to try that on mine, and probably wouldn't know how to do it anyway! :)
